Grier학교는 1853년 Andrew Grier의 고조부모님 Lemuel과 Sarah Grier에 의해 펜실베니아주 버밍햄 도시에 여학교로 설립되었습니다. Grier학교는 현재 303명의 중, 고등학생들이 다니고 있으며 학생들은 미국의 25개가 넘는 주와 15개의 외국 국가로부터 온 학생들입니다.

For female students seeking a boarding school that provides a well-rounded education, look no further. The Grier School offers 21 advanced placement programs, elite scholars classes, and a complete TOEFL/SAT program along with various arts and sports. Fortunately, the EduTimes has had the opportunity to meet and interview the Grier School’s director, Andrew Grier and learn more about the school.

Grier is currently working as director of the Admissions and Development department. He believes that what sets the Grier School apart from others schools is its commitment to the needs and aspirations of young women.

The Grier School was established as a girls’ school in 1853, in Birmingham, Pennsylvania by Lemuel and Sarah Grier. The school was founded by Grier’s great-great-grandfather. The Grier School currently has 303 middle and high school students. The students are from over 25 states in the U.S. and 15 countries. When asked what the Grier School’s strengths are, Grier answered, “We are well-known for our art program, and we send many students to America’s top-ranked art schools such as the Art Institute of Chicago, Parsons School of Design, and the Pratt Institute. Also, our faculty helps create a sense of school community and encourages each girl to be her own person.”

The Grier’s top students preparing for the best colleges and universities normally take four or
more AP courses. The Elite Scholars students achieve a composite of over 2050 on the SAT’s. One of the reasons that students attending the Grier get accepted to some of the most Competitive colleges and universities is because the Grier has a full-time college counselor who starts working with students when they’re in the 9th grade. The college counselor keeps working with students through to the 12th grade until they apply for college.

Being a boarding school, the Grier offers various off-campus activities such as trips to music recitals, sporting events, camping trips, rock concerts, ski resorts, local shopping malls, Penn State events, and many other interesting destinations.
